Polish Independence 10K Run/Walk (Bieg Stulecia) was a race commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland’s resurgence as a free country and it was held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 on the beautiful Chicago lakefront at Montrose Harbor.
The race, organized by WPNA 103.1 FM – Polish American Mix and produced by Chicago Special Events Management, included a symbolic number of 1918 runners and walkers, age 12+.
The Chicago race was a part of a bigger endeavor that included nearly 100 races held around Poland and abroad (London and New York) on the same date. All finishers received a custom medal, hand-painted in Poland. The post-race celebration included Polish sausages, courtesy of Greenridge Farm, and beer.
